Aalborg EH-S
The Alfa Laval Aalborg EH-S is a flow-through electric heater designed for steam production. This horizontal unit works in connection with an existing boiler, which acts as the steam drum. It offers load capacities up to 270 kW, with standard design values of 16 bar(g) and 204°C. The Aalborg EH-S complies with European standards and is easy for classification societies to approve.
Electric steam production for needs in harbour
- Combine with an existing boiler plant to create 100% steam system redundancy
- Reduce running costs when operating in harbour/hotel mode
- Limit wear and maintenance of the oil-fired boiler by avoiding a low turn-down ratio (approx. 1:10)
- Produce steam with electricity instead of converting the boiler for MGO operation
- Install as delivered – the pump, control cabinet, safety valve and non-return valve are all pre-mounted
The Aalborg EH-S can serve as a donkey boiler for certain vessel types. These include product carriers and container vessels, which have short and frequent harbour visits. Where there is only a large oil-fired boiler and an economizer installed, the unit can be an ideal option for harbour/hotel mode.
